Look, we get it - nobody really enjoys reading these things. But your privacy matters to us here at Halvorith Realm, so we've tried to keep this straightforward and honest. We're not some faceless corporation; we're a small team running a fantasy hotel in Whistler, and we treat your information the way we'd want ours treated.
When you book a room with us or reach out about our castle tours and experiences, we'll need some basic stuff:
We don't collect anything we don't actually need. There's no sneaky background tracking or selling your data to random third parties.
Here's the deal - we use your info for pretty straightforward reasons:
We're not gonna spam you with daily emails or sell your contact info. That's just not how we operate.
We're pretty protective of your data, but there's a few situations where we might share it:
We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Period. That's not our business model.
Yeah, we use cookies - but not the chocolate chip kind (though we do serve those at breakfast).
Our website uses cookies to remember your preferences, keep you logged in if you've got an account, and track basic analytics. This helps us understand what's working and what needs improvement.
Types of cookies we use:
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but heads up - some features might not work as smoothly. Most browsers let you control this pretty easily.
We take security seriously - probably more than the actual guards at medieval castles did back in the day.
Your information is encrypted during transmission (that's the HTTPS thing you see in your browser). We use secure servers, regular security audits, and limit who on our team can access sensitive data. Only folks who need it for their job can see it.
That said, no system is 100% hack-proof. We do our best, but if there's ever a breach, we'll let you know right away and work to fix it. Transparency matters.
Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA for you legal eagles), you've got some solid rights:
To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email at reservations@halvorithrealm.info or call (604) 555-0147. We'll get back to you pretty quickly.
We don't keep your information forever - that'd be weird and unnecessary.
Booking and payment records are kept for about 7 years (tax and accounting requirements, unfortunately). Marketing preferences and communication history stay until you ask us to delete them or opt out. Analytics data is anonymized after 26 months.
Once we don't need your info anymore, it gets securely deleted. We're not hoarders.
Sometimes we'll link to other websites - maybe local Whistler attractions or partners we work with for adventure planning. Once you click those links, you're on their turf and their privacy policies apply.
We try to only link to reputable sites, but we can't be responsible for their practices. Just something to keep in mind when you're clicking around.
We love having families stay with us, and kids absolutely dig the fantasy theme. However, our website and booking system aren't designed for children under 13 to use independently.
If you're a parent booking a family suite, that's totally fine - just make sure you're the one providing the information. If we accidentally collect data from a kid under 13, let us know and we'll delete it right away.
Laws change, technology evolves, and sometimes we add new services. When that happens, we might need to update this policy.
If we make major changes, we'll send an email to our mailing list and post a notice on the website. The "Last Updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. It's worth checking back occasionally, especially if you're a regular guest.
If something in this policy doesn't make sense, or you've got questions about how we handle your data, don't hesitate to reach out. We're real people here, not some automated system.
